Gurgaon: Man held for gunning down two, looting another in Sohna

A case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered in Sohna police station. The accused was produced in a court on Saturday and is on police remand for three days. The other two accused are absconding.

Police arrested a man accused of shooting two persons and looting another in a single day in Sohna area.

The accused has been identified as Satpal, a resident of Kushak Badoli of Palwal district. He is wanted in several cases, police said. Acting on a tipoff, police searched one of his hideouts in Palwal on Friday from where he was nabbed.

An attempt to murder case was registered against him at the Sohna Sadar police station and police were on the lookout for him.

During his questioning, Satpal confessed that on September 22, he along with his two associates committed three crimes in Sohna area.

The trio shot Devender on September 22 at Jambopur in Sohna area and they also shot Bhuvnesh Sharma later on the same day. Both victims died of the gunshot wounds, police said.

They also looted money from a liquor vend at gunpoint, the accused allegedly told police during questioning.

“We are investigating the matter and will soon be able to get more information about the other cases. We had prior information of the accused’s location and a team was sent to search the spot,” said Inspector Mukesh Kumar, station house officer, Sohna Sadar police station.

A search is on for the other two accused. With the arrest of Satpal, police are hopeful that they will be able to solve more cases of robbery and loot.
