The newly created four sub-tehsils in Gurgaon will start functioning within the next 15 days as the Haryana government has appointed nayab tehsildars in these new administrative units.
The new units have been formed to manage the increasing load of revenue related work apart from managing law and order.
Gurgaon residents will now get more options for registration and mutation of land as citizens can approach any of these offices irrespective of where they live in the tehsil.
In the last one decade, there has been a steep rise in registries and land related documentation in the city because of rapid urbanisation. The government had announced new sub-tehsils as people have been suffering due to delays in revenue related documentation at the Mini Secretariat, an official of Gurgaon administration said.
As per a government order, Ram Niwas has been appointed as nayab tehsildar of Kadipur, Rupinder Singh has been appointed at Wazirabad, and Krishan Kumar in Harsaru. The name of Badshahpur nayab-tehsildar is yet to be announced though the appointment has been made.
Gurgaon deputy commissioner Hardeep Singh said the prime objective is to provide services to people nearer to their homes.
With the appointment of these officials, the district administration will also get more manpower at sub-tehsil level, and they can also act as duty magistrates. CCTV camera surveillance and online protocols to get the work done has already been decided.
“The new sub-tehsils will help in distribution of work and revenue related work will be expedited. Also, due to this decentralisation, people will not have to come to the Mini Secretariat. There would be more accountability and transparency,” Hardeep Singh, deputy commissioner, Gurgaon, said.
