Gurgaon: Online campaign and Rs 5K reward for reuniting lost dog

An online campaign is underway in Gurgaon to reunite a pet dog with its owners in Gurgaon after it went missing from them.

An online campaign is underway to reunite a pet dog with its owners in Gurgaon after it went missing from them. A Rs 5000 reward has also been offered for the return of the canine.

Nicknamed Thumki, after the hip movement in dances, the female Indian breed dog fled from the owner on April 25 while she was being taken to a veterinary doctor in Qutub Plaza market in DLF City phase 1.

Soon after the pet went missing on April 25, Pakhi Sen, a Facebook friend of the owner Myra Khanna, a sociology under-graduate at Delhi University’s Hindu College, put up a message on Facebook to spread the word about the lost ‘girl’.

“This beautiful girl THUMKI went missing at Qutub Plaza, Gurgaon. It’s been around four hours and she is still nowhere in sight. She’s buff coloured and slender, please look out for her. SPREAD THE WORD (SIC),” read the post carrying the picture which has been shared more than 600 times.

The off white-coloured pet and was adopted by Myra in September 2014.

Soon, Myra shared on Facebook, “We lost THUMKI yesterday around Qutub Plaza Market in Gurgaon. Keep spreading the word and please please keep a look out. She doesn’t have a collar on (sic),” Myra wrote on April 26 on Facebook, who lives in DLF City Phase 3.”

Appeals of help on Twitter and Facebook by people, both known and unknown to Myra, kept pouring in since then. On April 27 a post, comprising a poster with pictures of the dog and announcing the Rs 5,000 reward, shared by Myra crossed more than 1,000 shares.

Again on April 9, she shared a post informing about tips to find a dog by a trainer. This post was shared by 500 plus users on Facebook.

“We are trying to reach out to everyone and find her,” Myra said.

On Twitter also people tweeted about the lost pet.
