Residents of gated community The Legend Apartments and Block E of Sector 57 have complained to the police and the CNG operator against the extended queues of vehicles, which block the entry and exit of the localities every day.
Residents have also demanded that the CNG pump be shifted from the residential area as there is no control over the vehicles by the management.
The long queues of vehicles, including autorickshaws, result in traffic snarls in the area causing a lot of inconvenience to the residents, especially during peak hours.
Col (Retd) NC Nath, a resident said, “We find it difficult to move out of our block. Autorickshaw drivers do not move despite making several requests. The pump should be shifted from this area.”
A police team from the Sector 56 police station has been deployed during peak hours to check the traffic menace.
A number of times, cab drivers also misbehave with the residents when they are asked to give way to other cars.
“We have many a time requested the CNG pump staff but they ignore our pleas and continue to make the situation worse,” said Asha Ravi, a resident of The Legend.
Residents alleged that the CNG vehicles cover half of the road and they find it difficult to move their vehicles out of the society.
“Even the school bus has to wait for 10-15 minutes to pick the students in the morning because of the long queue. The situation remains the same in the afternoon when students have to be dropped back,” said another resident.
Rahul Chopra, director of the Haryana city gas, said, “I was not aware about the issue but now I will certainly look into it. More security guards will be deployed to control the traffic movement at the pump. The issue will be resolved at the earliest.”
