Gurgaon: Shopkeeper booked for raping woman looking for a job in Manesar

A shopkeeper was on Thursday booked on charges of raping a 26-year old woman after promising her a job in Manesar . The victim, who is a resident of Dundahera village, alleged that the accused took her to a room, when she had gone there in search of a job and raped her.
A case has been registered at IMT Manesar police station under section 376, the police said.
The accused identified as Devender, a resident of Aliar, is absconding, and the police said the accused would be nabbed soon.
As per the complaint lodged by the victim, who is a divorcee and lives in a rented accommodation in Dundahera, she was looking for a job and had met Devender in connection with this on Wednesday.
The accused assured her that he would get her a job and asked her to come the next day. However, on Thursday afternoon, when the victim went to his shop, he pushed her into a room behind the shop and allegedly raped her.
“A case has been registered on the complaint of the victim at the IMT Manesar police station and the accused would be arrested soon,” said Ravinder Kumar, spokesperson, Gurgaon police.
Meanwhile, in another incident a man was booked for allegedly raping her a woman after promising to marry her. The woman works with an IT company. A case was registered at the women’s police station in Sector 51 on Thursday. The duo met three years ago and they developed physical relations.
The woman later got pregnant and started putting pressure on the accused to marry her. She then came to know that the accused was already married, the police said.
