Two more persons allegedly accused of attacking two bar employees and its owner at Grand Mall on MG road on Sunday night were arrested on Wednesday afternoon. Both the accused hail from Qadarpur and were arrested from a hideout in the village, the police said.
A group of around 15 persons had attacked the owner of S bar and its employees on Sunday around 11.15pm in which two men had suffered gunshot wounds.
A case in this regard was registered at Sector 29 police station on the complaint of S bar owner Deepak Kumar. The complainant had alleged that the attack was the handwork of a group led by Amit Kumar with whom they had an altercation last month.
Vikas Kaushik, SHO, Sector 29 police station, said that they arrested Jaivir and Naveen from Qadarpur village, as they were also allegedly part of the group that attacked the bar. “Three teams are working in connection with this case and are tracking the accused. We will nab the culprits in the next two to three days,” Kaushik said.
The police also said that the intention of these men was not to fire at the opponents but fire in the air to instil fear and intimidate them. However, at the S bar, the accused faced resistance from the other group and decided to open fire at their opponents as they were afraid of getting overpowered.
Deepak Saharan, DCP, east, said that searches are being conducted at several places and the accused would be nabbed soon. “The weapon used in the crime has also been recovered from one of the accused arrested today. We will also investigate from whom the accused obtained the firearms,” he added.
A case under Arms Act and attempt to murder under the Indian Penal Code was registered against the accused at Sector 29 police station on Sunday. Earlier, the police had arrested two persons identified as Amit, a bouncer from Daula village in Sohna, and Mintu, a resident of Faridabad, in connection with this incident.
