Gurgaon: Unplug yourself with retro music at HT Friday Jam

The audiences are expected to sway to popular numbers from both Hollywood and Bollywood, which will be played by the bands — ‘Mazhab’, ‘Dor’ and ‘Unplugged’.

Mazhab is one of the three bands that will perform in season 4 of HT Friday Jam at CyberHub in Gurgaon.

Residents can ‘unplug’ themselves this Friday with three musical bands in Season 4 of Hindustan Times DLF CyberHub Friday Jam, presented by KR Mangalam University and powered by Career Launcher.

The audiences are expected to sway to popular numbers from both Hollywood and Bollywood, which will be played by the bands — ‘Mazhab’, ‘Dor’ and ‘Unplugged’.

Mazab comprises six members — Himansu Sharma (vocalist), Anant Zueshi (vocalist), Nitesh Kumar (guitarist), Abhimanyu Chhetri (lead guitarist), Shikhar Shukla (bass guitarist) and Sudharshan (drummer). They will present a bouquet of Sufi, Bollywood, Rock and retro numbers.

The second band, ‘Dor’, a five-member band that was formed in 2012, will play Hindi Rock, Sufi and Bollywood songs.

The band members include Manish Chauhan (vocalist), Divesh Singh Thakur (lead guitarist), Gagan Kumar (bass guitarist) and Kapil Sarwa (keyboard player).

The members of the bands are excited to perform on the Friday Jam stage as it has been a musical event, which has received much appreciation from residents.

“We will play a mix of popular numbers and flavours of the season,” said Manish Gunthey, vocalist of ‘Unplugged’. Theirs is a three-member band comprising Manish Gunthey on the vocals, Aditya Jassi on the guitar and Ashwani Verma on the drums.

Apart from three bands, this Friday, Abhay Sharma will also be joining the ‘Unplugged’ on saxophone. He has toured with musicians Shankar, Eshan, Loy and Adnan Sami, renowned playback singers Sonu Nigam, Shibani Kashyap and has also worked with Oscar-winning music composer A R Rahman, Raghu Dixit and the band Indian Ocean.

The residents of the city have been thronging the venue at CyberHub every Friday to enjoy the music, making the event a hit already. One of the residents said that Friday Jam was a perfect way to start the weekend. The audience will experience a blend of music this week and bands are sure to keep them rocking till the end.
