Unhappy with the administration and town planning department, the Unitech home buyers held a meeting on Thursday and decided to hold a big protest on Saturday. The buyers met the town and planning officials twice in past twenty days.
The homebuyers are unhappy as the colonizer and officials are just buying time and not ensuring that the projects finish on time.
Ashok Bhaskar, a buyer, said, “Protest is our last resort as we have hope in the administration. The government made several forums and warned the developer to deliver plots and flats, but nothing happened.”
“We have booked our plots in Wild Flower Country and The Spruce Sector 70, Gurgaon. Provisional booking was done in the beginning of 2011 and 95% of payment was done in 2012 and the sales agreement was signed. Unitech promised to give possession of plots within 18 months of the signing of the agreement. The period ended in 2013,” said Rajeev Bedi, another buyer, adding that more than 200 home and plot buyers will assemble at Unitech office at South City 1.
The buyers said that till date, they have not got possession and neither has the Unitech carried out any construction activity on the land.
“This is our big worry. We do not know the status of our hard-earned money invested in this township. We have not got any positive response from Unitech until now. We will be holding a demonstration outside Unitech office to make our voices heard by the administration,” said another buyer requesting anonymity.
Earlier, on March 28, the town planning department of Gurgaon had warned Unitech executives and other developers during a meeting with the Allottee Grievance Redressal Forum (AGRF) of action unless they complete all pending projects and hand possession of flats on time.
The homebuyers had held a demonstration at the town planning office demanding action against defaulting builders.
Despite repeated attempts and messages, the Unitech spokesperson did not comment in the matter.
