Spirits soared and revelry knew no bounds on the third week of Hindustan Times DLF CyberHub Friday Jam, Season 4. The ambience was electrifying and the mood wild at the event presented by KR Mangalam University and powered by Career Launcher, as the scintillating performances left the audience in a daze.
The stage was set for a musical treat, as residents trooped into the venue and were soon set swinging to the beats. The wet, balmy weather blended with the catchy tunes to present a fiesta for the weekend crowd. The event offered the prefect setting for visitors to beat stress and dance the evening away.
The event also offered an opportunity for the visitors to connect with each other and celebrate music. They said the event, across four seasons, has emerged as an ideal forum for them to socialise over good music.
“This is our third straight week at the HT Friday Jam and we simply love the ambience and music. The event offers a perfect setting to hang out with friends and colleagues after work and beat the stress,” Avinash Mehta, a resident of DLF Phase-3, said.
The revellers swayed to the numbers belted out by the three bands — ‘Mazhab’, ‘Dor’ and ‘Unplugged’— and kept asking for more.
The first band to hit the stage was Mazab, comprising six members — Himansu Sharma (vocalist), Anant Zueshi (vocalist), Nitesh Kumar (guitarist), Abhimanyu Chhetri (lead guitarist), Shikhar Shukla (bass guitarist) and Sudharshan (drummer). The popular corporate band set the mood with their renditions and got the audience jiving to their beats. Their performance was a sumptuous appetizer for what was to follow.
They belted out popular Bollywood and Rock numbers including, “Moh Moh Ke Dhaage”, “Agar Tum Saath Ho”, “Zara Si Dil Main De Jagah,” and “Dil Se.” Many in the audience broke into a jig and while others cheered on the bandmates as they belted out the tracks.
Dor’, a five-member band formed in 2012, was the next to take the stage and played Rock, Sufi and Bollywood songs.
They crooned popular chartbusters such as “Urvasi,” and “Oh Hasina Zulfon Wali” and they were much appreciated by the audience.
The band comprises Manish Chauhan (vocalist), Divesh Singh Thakur (lead guitarist), Gagan Kumar (bass guitarist) and Kapil Sarwa (keyboard player).
The last to take the stage in the evening was ‘Unplugged’, a three-member band comprising lead vocalist Manish Gunthey, guitarist Aditya Jassi and drummer Ashwani Verma. They also presented a bouquet of popular Bollywood songs sending members of the audience into delirium.
The calendar event, across four seasons, has become wildly popular with music lovers in Gurgaon. With the city lacking a dedicated stage for cultural events, residents said this event has gone a long way in filling the void.
