A woman journalist suffered severe injuries after a speeding vehicle hit her two-wheeler near Ardee City on Sunday.
Leena Dhankhar, a reporter with Hindustan Times, fell unconscious after being hit. The vehicle could not be identified. The incident took place on Sunday night when she was on her way home in Sector 57 from her office in Sector 30.
Dhankhar fractured her right arm and suffered serious injuries on her leg and head.
Some passersby took her to Paras Hospital. Later, her family shifted her to Kalyani Hospital. Doctors at Kalyani Hospital said she is out of danger and her condition is stable. However, the doctor had to put a steel plate in her fractured arm.
"We operated upon her arm and put a steel plate on Monday. There are no major injuries on the head. She will take five-six weeks to recuperate," said Dr Sushil Khurana of the Kalyani Hospital.
The police are likely to record Dhankhar's statement on Tuesday.
