Around 15 men allegedly armed with country-made pistol and sticks, held six members of the security staff of an under-construction building on Golf Course Extension Road at gunpoint and stole tools, materials and electrical appliances worth around Rs 14 lakh early on Wednesday, police said.

A case of dacoity and wrongful confinement under IPC, and relevant sections of the Arms Act was filed on Wednesday night, based on a complaint by a senior project engineer of the builder.

“We are yet to identify the accused or make any arrests. According to the security staff, the accused were locals. Multiple police teams are trying to nab them,” Sector 65 SHO Shukarpal Singh said.

After the accused men left, the staff informed the company and they later filed a police complaint. “We do not know in which vehicle they took the materials as the security staff did not see it and there is no CCTV footage of the incident,” the SHO said.

Dinesh Kumar, assistant commissioner of police (Sohna), said that the security staff were not assaulted.
