MCG expects to earn Rs1,016 cr in next fiscal

The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has estimated to earn Rs1,016 crore from various sources during the next financial year.
The budget for the year 2012-13 was discussed in a meeting on Tuesday. The meeting which was presided over by MCG commissioner Sudhir Rajpal was attended by two joint commissioners, account officer and other senior officials.
The corporation will spend Rs533 crore on various development works this year. The sources of revenue generation include R500 crore from property tax, Rs350 crore from stamp duty, Rs30 crore from advertisement, Ra40 crore from fixed deposits.
A total of Rs96 crore is expected from miscellaneous modes.
The total allocated expenditure of Rs533 crore in 2012-13 includes Rs322 crore on city’s development works.
Around Rs31 crore has been allocated for sanitation, Rs25 crore on machinery for sanitation, Rs81 crore on establishment, R19 crore on administrative works and Rs30 crore on miscellaneous purposes. The MCG commissioner has emphasised on need of procuring equipment to handle disasters. The budget will be now placed before the house for a discussion.
