Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon will organise a one-day camp at its Sector 34 office on May 5 to approve building plans and issue certificates on the spot, officials said.
The move is aimed at redressing long delays faced by residents in getting building completion certificate and occupation certificate.
A completion certificate indicates that the building has been constructed as per the prescribed rules and facilities, specifically for parking, drainage and water supply, also adhere to the norm. An occupancy certificate entitles owners to reside in their flat.
“We keep getting complaints from residents about delay in sanctioning the certificates, so we decided to hold a camp and issue these certificates. Applicants need to bring all requisite documents for the same,” Sudhir Singh Chouhan, senior town planner, said.
Owing to the lack of necessary certificates, flat owners face difficulties to mortgage their property and are also unable to get the property card, a document required for various government and financial processes.
Upon completion of a building, the builders seek a provisional completion certificate and sell the property to buyers. The provisional certificate is valid for six months after the property is sold.
However, builders fail to apply for the completion certificate and flat owners have to face hurdles in the absence of lack of these certificates, officials said.
