The transfer and subsequent reinstatement of a Class IV employee has become a bone of contention between the two top Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) officials.
Huda administrator Praveen Kumar had slapped peon Mukesh Kumar in November 2011 for allegedly abusing his position. He had then transferred him to Huda’s electrical wing at Sector 15.
However, Huda’s chief administrator DPS Nagal had reinstated the peon in the estate officer’s office at Sector 56 on January 6, against Praveen Kumar’s wishes.
Now, the Huda administrator has taken up the matter with the Haryana chief minister to transfer the peon back to the Sector 15 office.
After the slapping incident, Mukesh Kumar had filed a case and had forwarded letters to the deputy commissioner, chief administrator and chief minister pleading not guilty. Huda employees’ union comprising third and fourth grade officials had also observed a one-day strike in his support. Even residents of the peon's village had written to the Gurgaon police commissioner.
The administrator, however, denied any differences with his superior. “There is no difference of opinion between us. The reinstatement may be part of the regular rotation orders from the CM’s office. I have spoken to the CM’s office. He should be sent to the electrical wing shortly,” Praveen Kumar said.
Panel to auction seized marble
A committee was formed to auction the marble seized during the January 9-10 raid in Sikanderpur. The panel includes MCG superintending engineer YK Garg as chairman, MCG executive engineer (enforcement) Raman Sharma as member secretary, MCG executive engineer Naresh Tomar and the Huda executive engineer of the area. The committee has been asked to declare the reserve price by Thursday. “On the basis of the reserved price, an auction will take place on Friday or Saturday,” said a senior MCG official. HTC
