The winter has set in and lip-smacking barbecue snacks with personalised bars at Hindustan Times’ The Gourmet High Street will make the season memorable for Gurgaon residents.
The three-day food fest, which will kick off on December 4 at Leisure Valley Park, will have several attractions -- barbeque party, sipping turf, wine garden and a cooking studio.
At the wine garden, visitors will be spoilt for choice as they can pick from a wide range of drinks available at a special price. Experts will discuss trivia of the wine industry with visitors.
Those fond of cooking can participate at the chefs’ demo, mixology sessions and chefs’ workshops at Rs 350 per head and Rs 650 per head for three days. Participants can also cook a meal with celebrity chefs Sanjeev Kapoor, Manish Mehrotra, Gaggan Anand, Sarah Todd, Sarans, just like it is shown on reality cooking shows. Also, food trucks will compete among each other to offer visitors the best grub.
“People are worried about the source of their fruits and vegetables. It’s not just about recipes, it’s about how your food is grown and where it comes from. I will talk about cooking with seasonal produce and making use of whatever is available locally,” Chef Vicky Ratnani said.
Chef Sanjeev Kapoor will discuss food trends, the use of cutting-edge kitchenware and cookware, and how to make today’s kitchens more efficient. “I am looking forward to interact with those who see me on TV,” he said.
There is something for children too — nachos and salsa canape, sweet tooth waffles, pancakes and Italian pasta with white sauce and chocolates.
Swati Jain, a sugar crafting expert, said: “I’m looking forward to showing bakers in Gurgaon how they can create beautiful cake decorations in a simple way.”
