Major #fitspo: This is how designer JJ Valaya’s daughter shed 42 kg

Here’s the journey of budding fashion designer, Hoorvi Valaya, who lost 42 kg thanks to a balanced diet, and the right lifestyle changes.

Hoorvi Valaya started her fitness journey a little more than a year back.

We all need a bit of motivation to change things up. And, when designer JJ Valaya posted on Facebook about his daughter, Hoorvi’s journey from “large to lovely,” we couldn’t help but feel inspired.

JJ Valaya posted this status on his Facebook account.

“I was having lunch with a friend and something just hit me. I told him, ‘Give me a year and I’m going to lose my weight.’ And, ever since, I was at it. It was tough, it made me moody... but the happiness you get when you see the waistline shrink is worth ditching the desserts,” says Hoorvi.

The 19-year-old has dropped 42 kgs. “Dieting isn’t equal to starving — a myth most of us believe. Nutritionist Tripti Tandon helped me reach my goal. One needs an expert who becomes a friend, and keeps you motivated,” she says.

Valaya, in his post, also called Hoorvi his guide: “Hopefully, I’ll be able to make you proud too with my genuine (I promise) efforts to win the same battle.” Does Hoorvi aim to be the influence? “It comes from within and requires major changes — from the number of hours you sleep to food timings. I’m sure he’ll be able to master this art as well... very very soon!,” she says. And, here’s a message for all those fighting a similar fight: “As much as I agree to the fact that it’s important to be fit .. it’s also very important to be happy and to love your body. To care for it with the right food, the right nutrients. To all those people who feel weight loss is a struggle ... just be at it. Be consistent and you’ll see the results . It’s something we all should do not for anyone else but for ourselves . Stay happy, stay healthy. “
