  • Over 38. 10 runs. Bowler: JP Duminy. India: 193/2(rr 5.08)
  • 37.6

SIX! JP Duminy to Yuvraj Singh. Off break back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed in the air under control over deep mid wicket for 6 runs.

Yuvraj does it in style with a six. It was a very comfortable chase for India with the partnership between Dhawan (78) and Kohli (76 not out) crushing the hopes of South Africa. The bowlers tried everything they could but they didn't have enough runs on the board to be able to put pressure on the batsmen. That win means India progress to the semi-finals while South Africa will be going home deflated. Join us tomorrow for the conclusion of the group stage to see Pakistan take on Sri Lanka for the final spot in the semis.

A brilliant innings from Shikhar Dhawan but he can't see his team home. It was the googly from Tahir which he didn't pick and ended up slicing the ball out to the deep. Not much celebration from the Proteas as they know this game is lost.

  • Key events
  • 44.3

OUT! Run Out. Kumar to Duminy. Back of a length, down leg side on the back foot pulling, to deep mid wicket for 1 run, fielded by Kohli, by Dhoni.

Well that just sums up South Africa's day. The two batsmen in the middle were indecisive and ended up both standing in the middle of the wicket before Tahir attempted to get back.

It was not great from South Africa but credit has to go to the Indian bowlers who stuck to their task from ball one and didn't give any freebies. After the start from de Kock and Amla though, 300 was on the cards until a couple of run-outs caused panic and the middle-order crumbled. Should be a comfortable chase for India but you never know.

  • 42.3

OUT! Caught. Kumar to Morkel. Back of a length, down leg side on the back foot pushing, outside edge to slips, by Kohli. Two in two for Kumar. Once again it is the angle of the ball which has gone across the left-hander and taken the edge. Goes to slip this time and look who is waiting for the catch, Virat Kohli.

  • 42.2

OUT! Caught. Kumar to Rabada. Length ball, down leg side on the back foot defending, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Dhoni. Such a good ball from Kumar. Angling away from the left-hander and squaring him up in his stance, before taking the edge. This has been a brilliant display from the Indian bowlers.

  • 41.3

APPEAL! Ashwin to Duminy. Off break length ball, off stump on the front foot defending, hit pad to gully for no runs, fielded by Kohli, appeal made for L.B.W. Sliding down with the angle. Ashwin stopped his appeal after a couple of seconds knowing that.

  • 40.1

OUT! L.B.W. NOT OUT changed by umpire to OUT after REFERRAL. Bumrah to Phehlukwayo. Full toss, to leg on the front foot flick, hit pad. Bumrah is back and immediately he makes an impact. Full and quick and Phelukwayo is too slow to react. It looks like it might have just hit him outside leg stump but Kohli decides to review and it was the right decision to do so.

  • 36.4

OUT! Caught. Bumrah to Morris. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, top edge in the air uncontrolled to mid wicket, by Kumar. It goes from bad to worse for South Africa. They have slumped to 167-6 with Chris Morris the latest man to go. The ball wasn't there to pull which is why it came off the top edge and went straight up towards the fielder inside the ring.

  • 34.1

APPEAL! Jadeja to Duminy. Stock length ball, off stump down the track working, back to bowler for no runs, fielded by Jadeja, appeal made for Run Out Not another run-out. The ball is punched back at the bowler and Jadeja deflects it onto the stumps at the non-striker's end. Morris though is comfortably home.

  • 33.3

OUT! Bowled. Pandya to du Plessis. Off cutter back of a length, outside off stump on the front foot driving, inside edge. Not for the first time Faf chops the ball back onto his stumps. You have to give credit to Pandya though for changing his pace and forcing Faf to hit through the shot earlier than he would have wanted. South Africa are in huge trouble now at 157-5.

  • 30.2

APPEAL! OUT changed by umpire to NOT OUT after REFERRAL. Jadeja to Duminy. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot sweeping, Gloved for no runs, appeal made for L.B.W. Is this another one gone. India think so and so does the umpire as he raises his finger. An immediate review from Duminy though suggest some bat or glove. Slight kiss off the glove before hitting the pad and Duminy is going to be safe.

  • 29.1

OUT! Run Out. Ashwin to du Plessis. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the back foot pushing, outside edge to slips, fielded by Bumrah, by Kohli. What is going on out there! Both batsmen have ended up at the same end with Faf diving to get in first. This has been a shocker of a couple of over for South Africa, no calling between the batsmen and two big wickets back in the shed.

  • 28.2

OUT! Run Out. Jadeja to du Plessis. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, to point, fielded by Pandya, by Dhoni. Huge wicket for India. These two batsmen are incredibly quick between the stumps but even that was a risky single for them. Accurate throw enabled Dhoni to move the gloves slightly and whip off the bails in super quick time. Only Kohli looked sure but once the board flashed 'out', the team went wild.

  • 27.1

That is 50 for Virat Kohli off 72 balls.

  • 24.2

OUT! Bowled. Jadeja to de Kock. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot slog sweeping, missed. Got him this time. The ordinary sweep attempted by de Kock but the ball slides under the bat and into the stumps. Huge wicket for India.

  • 24.1

APPEAL! Jadeja to de Kock. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot reverse sweeping, Gloved to short extra cover for no runs, fielded by Dhoni, appeal made for L.B.W. Jadeja is very excited but Dhoni has spotted the ball clipping the glove first.

  • 23.3

That is 53 for Shikhar Dhawan off 61 balls.

  • 23.2

That is 50 for Quinton de Kock off 70 balls.

  • 22.2

That is 100 for South Africa off 140 balls.

  • 21.6

That is 100 for India off 134 balls.

  • 17.3

OUT! Caught. Ashwin to Amla. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Dhoni. There's number one for India. Just as Amla was beginning to open his shoulders he edges behind off Ashwin. Possibly a flatter trajectory which Amla didn't pick as he tried to cut against the spin. Big edge behind and a smart catch from Dhoni.

  • 16.6

APPEAL! Tahir to Dhawan. Googly length ball, middle stump on the front foot pushing, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, by de, appeal made for Stumped Sharp work from de Kock behind the stumps but not quick enough. That will be drinks and India are currently cruising to victory.

  • 15.3

Dropped Catch! Phehlukwayo to Kohli. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, outside edge to slips for no runs, dropped catch by Amla.

  • 12.6

Dropped Catch! Pandya to Amla. Length ball, outside off stump no foot movement driving, to mid off for no runs, dropped catch by Pandya, fielded by Kohli.

  • 5.3

OUT! Caught. Morkel to Sharma. Length ball, off stump backing away driving, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by de. Strange batting from Rohit. This pair were going along nicely but he wanted more as he gave himself room trying to go over the top. Morkel followed him though and found the edge.
