The central government on Thursday raided top Amazon sellers Cloudtail and Appario over alleged violation of competition laws, news agency Reuters said citing sources with direct knowledge of the matter. The raids are being conducted by the Competition Commission of India. Amazon, which has an indirect equity stake in both sellers, did not immediately respond to a request for comment, Reuters said.

A special court in Kochi on Wednesday rejected the National Investigation Agency's (NIA) plea for cancellation of the bail to Alan Shuhaib, who was arrested over alleged Maoists links in Kerala's Pantheernakavu in 2019. NIA sought the cancellation two months back citing a criminal case registered against Shuhaib over alleged ragging at a law college in Kannur last year. 578 incidents of fire have been reported in Odisha's forests over the week between February 1 and Feb 8, 2023, the highest in the country, according to the Forest Survey of India's fire alerts system based on Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership. According to the FSI database, Odisha reported 121 instances of forest in the first week of February in 2022, 656 in 2021 and only 121 in 2020.
