Another person died in south Kashmir during security forces’ action on stone pelters, taking the toll of civilians killed in Valley’s violence to three in last two days, police said.

The mob was protesting after an encounter in which three militants were killed, police said.

Mohammad Sayeed Bhat (25) received bullet injuries when security forces used fire to chase away the mob near the encounter site at Avneera in Shopian on Sunday night, a police official said.

He said Bhat was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The official said 12 other persons were injured in the clashes.

In Pulwama district, Owais Ahmad (24-25-years-old) died after he was hit by pellets allegedly fired by CRPF targeted at stone-pelters. He was taken to a nearby hospital, from where he was referred to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital in Srinagar where he was declared dead.

The Pulwama death came hours after a civilian, who was wounded in a petrol bomb attack in Dalgate area of Srinagar on Saturday evening, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
