COP27: How politics put climate on back-burner at fraught summit

Several countries and blocs involved in negotiations at the UN Climate Conference sought to reopen texts that had already been agreed upon and leaked discussions that were not held widely among parties, people who were part of the 13-day talks that culminated on Saturday said. Negotiators who were part of the discussions said on Sunday that behind closed doors were more controversial moves.
