Sukhoi fighter plane crashes in Barmer, three people injured

An IAF fighter plane crashed in Rajasthan’s Barmer district on Wednesday. Though both pilots ejected safely but three villagers were injured in the incident.

The incident occurred near Shivkar village in Sadar police station area in Barmer, additional SP Rameshwar Lal told PTI.

The plane was on a routine sortie. Both the pilots ejected safely but three people were injured in the incident .

“Villagers told us that the pilot ejected shortly before the crash. Air Force officials have been informed about the incident,” Lal said.

One Narayan Ram, his daughter in law and minor grandson were injured in the crash. They have been admitted to the district hospital, circle officer Barmer OP Ujjwal said.

A MiG-21 aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed near Barmer in Rajasthan in September last year. Both the pilots had managed to eject safely.
