Among other carriers, a spate of technical snags has been reported by low-budget airline Spicejet with DGCA curtailing its operations.

Gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed's convoy escorted by police entered Uttar Pradesh after crossing Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh. Ahmed expressed fear of being murdered outside the Sabarmati central jail in Ahmedabad and a vehicle in the convoy hit a cow in Shivpuri district. Two people were killed and one injured in an alleged tiger attack in Chhattisgarh's Surajpur district on Monday. The incident occurred near Kalamanjan village when the three were collecting wood. The family of the deceased will be given compensation and locals have been advised not to enter the forest.

The Supreme Court issued a notice to the Centre and Gujarat government in a petition filed by Bilkis Bano against the premature release of 11 people convicted of her gangrape and murdering her family members during the 2002 Gujarat riots. A new bench will hear the case extensively on April 18 and consider setting up a new bench. The 11 men convicted of the crimes against Bano and her family were released on August 15 after one of them sought remission. The Gujarat government's 1992 policy, which was in effect at the time of the convicts' conviction, allowed for their premature release.

A 42-year-old real estate agent and BJP functionary was killed in Puducherry on Sunday evening. CCTV footage shows two men on a motorcycle throwing bombs at the victim before one of them attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon. A murder case has been registered at the Villianur police station.
