Indira memorial shut due to bird flu, Cong alters plan for death anniversary

In view of the Delhi government’s move to close down the memorial of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at Shakti Sthal due to bird flu, the Congress has decided to make some changes in its programmes for the day.

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, party vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and others will not be able to pay their homage to the late Prime Minister on her martyrdom day on October 31 due to the closure of the memorial.

Instead, a march will be organised from the party headquarters at 24, Akbar Road to Indira Gandhi memorial museum at 1, Safdarjung Road.

Congress Working Committee (CWC) members and other functionaries of the party are expected to take part in the march.
