Jharkhand cops reach Kanker to probe rape case in which BJP candidate is suspect

?A team of Jharkhand police reached Chhattisgarh's Kanker district on Monday in connection with a rape case registered in Jamshedpur in which the BJP's candidate for Bhanupratapur assembly by-election, Bramhanand Netam, is among the accused, the Chhattisgarh police said. Netam had earlier denied the accusation, calling the allegations 'a conspiracy hatched by Congress' to tarnish his image. A police officer said the team could take action against Netam over the next two days as well.

Delhi HC issues summons to Raut, Thackeray, Twitter, Google in defamation case

Delhi High Court summons Shiv Sena leaders Uddhav Thackeray, Sanjay Raut, Aditya Thackeray, Twitter and Google in a civil defamation case filed by Rahul Ramesh Shewale over Raut's claim of a Rs 2000 crore deal for the allotment of the bow and arrow symbol to the Shiv Sena faction. Senior Advocate Rajiv Nayar asked the court to pass an injunction to restrain Raut and others from making any further defamatory allegations.

Radical Sikh leader Amritpal Singh has been seen on a Delhi street in a new look, according to CCTV footage. Police suspect the Khalistani leader is still absconding and the Indian government has asked the Nepal government to not allow him to flee. Punjab government told the high court they are close to catching him, but he has yet to be arrested. Photos on social media indicate Amritpal Singh and his aide Papalpreet are bluffing the police.

ED recorded 3,497 cases under PMLA in last five years: Govt informs Parliament

In the last five years, the Enforcement Directorate recorded 3,497 cases under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. The government also stated that investigations have noticed the role of Indian and foreign Shell Companies in money laundering and necessary action has been taken.

Tribunal upholds ban on Popular Front of India (PFI) and its affiliates, noting there was no evidence to suggest it was imposed to target a particular community. PM Modi asked BJP MPs to focus on social issues in their constituencies and implement social schemes to benefit the party. He cited Gujarat's Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign as an example. EPFO fixes 8.15% interest rate on provident fund

EPFO has fixed 8.15% interest rate on employees' provident fund for 2022-23, the lowest in three decades. 12% of an employee's basic salary is compulsorily deducted to be saved in the provident fund, while an employer co-contributes another 12%. The EPFO's Central Board of Trustees is meeting to discuss the annual accounts, financial performance and returns from investments. Ratification by the finance ministry is required for the savings interest rate to take effect.
