?A team of Jharkhand police reached Chhattisgarh's Kanker district on Monday in connection with a rape case registered in Jamshedpur in which the BJP's candidate for Bhanupratapur assembly by-election, Bramhanand Netam, is among the accused, the Chhattisgarh police said. Netam had earlier denied the accusation, calling the allegations 'a conspiracy hatched by Congress' to tarnish his image. A police officer said the team could take action against Netam over the next two days as well.

EPFO has fixed 8.15% interest rate on employees' provident fund for 2022-23, the lowest in three decades. 12% of an employee's basic salary is compulsorily deducted to be saved in the provident fund, while an employer co-contributes another 12%. The EPFO's Central Board of Trustees is meeting to discuss the annual accounts, financial performance and returns from investments. Ratification by the finance ministry is required for the savings interest rate to take effect.
