Stones were thrown at Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray's car last night during a meeting in Maharashtra's Aurangabad, party leader Ambadas Danve said Wednesday. The incident occurred in the village of Mahalgaon during Thackeray's Shivsanvad Yatra, when his program clashed with Ramabai Ambedkar birth anniversary celebrations, news agency ANI said. Danve claimed the stones were thrown by 'anti-social' elements in order to create a rift between the two groups.

The CBI on Wednesday arrested Butchi Babu Gorantla, a Hyderabad-based chartered accountant for his alleged role in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi excise policy, news agency ANI reported. Butchubabu Gorantla is believed to be a former aide of Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao's daughter MLC Kavitha whose name has already been dragged into the case. A cab driver was allegedly assaulted by Tamil Nadu governor R N Ravi's personal staff, police said on Tuesday, adding a probe has been started in the matter. A video of the incident shared on social media shows the driver and Thirugnana Sambandam, advisor of media and communication to the governor involved in a heated argument. Sambandam is heard asking the cab driver to stop recording the video and delete it. The driver had objected when Sambandam made him stop at multiple locations.

Health minister Veena George added chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan asked her to visit the ailing Congress leader. Chandy was hospitalised on Monday. A section of Congress workers and Chandy's relatives complained he was not getting proper treatment. His relatives alleged they were not allowed to meet him. The former chief minister will be airlifted to Bengaluru hospital on Wednesday.
