“In Pulwama, when CRPF jawans were killed, Narendra Modi was involved in film making. This is the patriotism of Modi, BJP. People are martyred and Modi poses for camera for three hours,” he said at a rally in outskirts of Hyderabad as he kicked of the party’s campaign in Telangana.
He said the Congress had driven away the British from India and the time has come to drive away Modi as he invoked Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi without taking their names. “Two PMs died for the country. This is the real patriotism. Time has come to drive away Modi.”
Earlier Saturday, PM Modi targeted the opposition leaders once again for seeking clarification from the government over the IAF strike on Jaish-e-Mohammad’s biggest camp in Balakot .
The Congress chief also trained his guns on PM Modi over a range issues and accused him of dividing the country into two parts – one for the rich and the other for the poor.
“One India is of rich people like Anil Ambani and those who travel in private flights and get whatever they want. They take huge loans from banks, evade paying loans, hoping that Modi would waive them. People like Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi and Vijay Mallya flee country by evading loans. Nobody can catch them. The other India has poor farmers which requests for loan waiver, but finance minster will not come forward.”
He said the grand old party will bring in revolutionary reforms ensure minimum income guarantee to every person in 2019 as he insisted that the fight in the upcoming general election is between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Congress party.
“In 2019, we shall bring in revolutionary reforms. We have decided to ensure minimum income guarantee to every person.... Congress will bring green revolution. It brought computer revolution, telecom revolution, bank nationalisation which was a historic decision.”
He also criticised Modi for GST and demonetisation. “GST and demonetisation broke the backbone of the people and threw crores of people on the roads,” he said.
