If things remain the way they are when the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week takes off in Delhi, there will be no international models vying for runway space. As reported by HT City, three international models — Brazilian Claudia Horn and Serbian models Bojana Draskovic and Ivana Milanovic — were to rampwalk at WLIFW. But the models have run into trouble, with organisers ask ing them to produce valid work permits.
Sabrina Model Management, the agency of the three models, has reportedly decided to bid adieu as "it was getting a little too much to handle."
Sources say while the agency had submitted the papers to the organisers (Percept D’ Mark) two days before the announcement of its list (around Feb 20), complete with details of their business visas, they had maintained their models didn’t need any work permits. Something that the other side had contested, saying only models with proper visa were allowed to walk the ramp.
Sources in the modelling agency maintain that though it has now completed all paperwork formalities, it's almost certain that Claudia, a model that most of desi designers were very keen on, will be out. "She's too upset to continue," they say.
Says FDCI's Rathi Vinay Jha: "We'll welcome them whenever they produce valid work permits... the FDCI doesn't want to do anything against the law of the land."
