At least four underground activists were killed in factional fighting between two groups of NSCN in different parts of Nagaland, police said on Sunday.
Three NSCN(K) cadres were abducted by rival NSCN(IM) from Dimapur, the commercial hub of the state, and gunned down in Kher Mahal area of the town on Saturday, police said.
In another incident at Merangkong village in Mokokchung district, one NSCN(I-M) cadre was killed by activists of NSCN(K) faction on Saturday, police said.
With Saturday's (March 17, 2007) killings, the death toll of underground activists from both groups rose to 11 during this month even as various Naga organisations have been appealing to the leaders of NSCN factions to restrain theirs cadre and desist from 'senseless killings and kidnappings' in the state.
