“It is shocking that very poor quality onions were being sold at Rs 49 per kilogram. I bought one kilo and the receipt is still with me. This punctures the Delhi government’s claims of selling onions at Rs 40 per kg,” said Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel, who visited one such government booth at Bengali Market on Friday.

He said BJP partyworkers were selling onions at Rs 35-Rs 40 per kg at approximately 60 outlets.

“In fact, what was touted as government outlets are nothing but sham outlets run by some traders,” he added.

The BJP has demanded a probe into this alleged fraud and challenged the Congress government to come out with exact details of the locations of outlets where it is selling onions.
