I know an intimate part of his body: Loos
A woman who claims she had an affair with soccer star David Beckham says she has knowledge of "an intimate part of his body" that would be known only through a sexual relationship. In excerpts from a television interview reported in several British papers Thursday, Rebecca Loos said she knew something about Beckham which "only women who've been in bed with him" would know. She refused to say what it was.
Beckham and his wife, Victoria, have denounced the claims of affairs as "ludicrous" and "absurd." They have been making a public show of unity, and photographs of the two hand in hand, cuddling or just shopping in Madrid featured in several British papers Thursday.
Beckham's lawyers have written to Sky television, which planned to broadcast a one-hour interview with Loos Thursday night. Sky refused to comment on the contents of the letter, and said it intended to go ahead with the broadcast.
19 Management, which represents Victoria Beckham and also handles the couple's commercial interests, would not say whether legal action had been taken.
Loos, 26, the former personal assistant to the Real Madrid and England soccer star, set off a flurry of speculation about Beckham nearly two weeks ago when a Sunday tabloid, the News of the World, first reported allegations of an affair.
Sky refused to comment on reports in the British press that it paid 500,000 pounds (US$900,000) for the interview. She also was reported to have been paid a six-figure sum for her interview with the News of the World.
Britain's tabloid press, who have gone into a feeding frenzy over the claims, gave blanket coverage to Loos again on Thursday. Bookmakers even offered odds on what the intimate detail might be -- from tattooed buttocks to a spotty back.
Sky's interviewer asked Loos whether Beckham had any identifying marks on his body.
"There is something I know about him, an intimate part of his body that I think only women who've been in bed with him would know," Loos said, "so I think if they did want to take me to court I could easily stand up and say well..." But when asked if Beckham was circumcised, Loos replied: "I'm not going into that. I'm not talking about that. If I do ever need to talk about that it'll be in court, not on TV," imdb quoted a vocal Loos as saying.
Loos' latest claims were splashed over the Sun, Britain's leading tabloid which, along with Sky Television, is part of the global media empire owned by Rupert Murdoch.
In the interview, Loos shows off raunchy text messages that she said she received from Beckham, a British sporting and fashion icon famed for his squeaky clean image as a devoted family man.
She also said Beckham fed her strawberries at breakfast in a Madrid hotel bedroom and made her feel "like a million dollars".
Insisting her story was 100 percent true, she said: "There is no doubt in my mind. I have no reason to lie. Why should I? I was wrong to have done what I did. But it did happen and I'm not going to live a lie for the rest of my life."
