The Uttar Pradesh government kicked off its first Tourism Day on Sunday with hot air balloons floating into the sky in Lucknow.
Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav said his government’s aim was to improve tourism as it would generate more employment opportunities and benefit the state economically.
The three-day festival was inaugurated by UP principal secretary Navneet Sehgal.

A ‘Photo and Exhibition Festival’ was also inaugurated on Sunday showcasing historical buildings and architectural remains of the state capital.
Multiple competitions were held during the event to attract participants and the winners of the contests were awarded a free hot air balloon ride.
