Khattar meets officers, first cabinet meeting on Monday

Within hours of being sworn in on Sunday, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and his cabinet colleagues held an introductory interface with the civil servants at the Haryana civil secretariat. The first meeting of the council of ministers has been scheduled for Monday.

Khattar told the officers that public welfare should be the objective of the state government. The chief minister said that apart from politicians, bureaucrats also shared equal responsibility to run the government. He said all officers should perform their duties with utmost dedication in the interest of people.

Chief secretary Shakuntala Jakhu said the state had a competent team of officers who would work to realise the motto 'minimum government and maximum governance' of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
