Social media, especially Facebook, is likely to play an important role in the upcoming assembly elections in Delhi.
While the Congress organised social media workshops for its legislators, councillors and block-level office bearers recently, the Delhi BJP organised a volunteers' meet of netizens on Saturday.
Delhi BJP chief Vijay Goel said the meet was attended by more than 100 volunteers who came in touch with party's effort to tap netizens for consolidating and strengthening its support base among them.
Meanwhile, the much-anticipated core committee, which is being seen as the compromise formula to abate the infighting in the BJP and was expected to pacify rebels, was not formed even on Saturday.
Sources said there was some disagreement over some names which delayed the announcement. The core committee will take over the charge of managing and overseeing all election-related activities and will be the top decision-making body in the run up to elections in Delhi.
The committee is likely to have past Delhi BJP presidents, party general secretaries, representatives of the national executive among others. It is likely to be announced by the party parliamentary board.
Former BJP president and party in-charge of Delhi Nitin Gadkari, however, held individual meetings with several Delhi leaders on Saturday.
