Kochi police on Sunday detained a Congress worker for carrying a licenced pistol to the venue of the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting attended by party president Sonia Gandhi. According to police sources, Kannur Congress district committee executive member T P Sebastian was taken into custody after he revealed the pistol to the securitymen while entering the Ambedkar Stadium, the venue of the CPP meet. Ms Gandhi was present at the stadium. Sebastian was let off in the evening after verification.
