THE MP High Court today dismissed a plea seeking direction for probe through the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into mysterious death of Sarla Mishra, the president of the Youth Congress's women cell in MP in 1997. Sarla Mishra died on February 19, 1997, in a hospital at Delhi as she was shifted in critical condition sustaining more than 90 per cent burn injuries from the Hamidia Hospital, Bhopal. HTC

‘Missing’ woman appears

A YOUNG woman, who was reported missing six months ago, appeared before the Additional SP, Satna on Tuesday and charged her own father with keeping her in his custody after she witnessed him murder a forest worker. ASP RK Arusuia said on Tuesday that Anamika Singh (24), daughter of ex-ranger, Satna, RKS Chouhan told the police that her father had murdered the Forest Department guard and she was the eyewitness to it. 3 held with opium

THREE YOUTHS were arrested and 3 kg opium seized from their possession in Neemuch on Monday night. The accused Gopal Gurjar, Jailal and Shyamlal were hiding the opium in their clothes and were trying to escape to Bhagal village. HTC

New mobile connections

BHARAT SANCHAR Nigam Limited (BSNL) General Manager AK Pandey in Mandsaur on Tuesday said that Mandsaur and Neemuch districts would have 17,000 new mobile connections by the end of March 2006. With this, the mobile facility would be made available to Dalouda, Sitamau, Garoth, Suvasra, Shamgarh, Gandhisagar, Malhargarh, Rampura, Kukdeshwar, Singhoi and Ratangarh in both districts by March 2006. Criminals attacked

UNIDENTIFIED PERSONS near Pipariya attacked two habitual criminals returning on a motorbike from Hoshangabad after attending a hearing in Itarsi on Tuesday. Sanju Soni (25) one of the youths was externed from the district. Sanju Soni with his associate Sachin Pande was returning to Itarsi on a motorbike when some unidentified persons who were in a Marshal jeep threw hand grenades on them. HTC

Fraud case registered

ON THE directives of the NDPS court, Neemuch police registered a fraud case against four persons including an employee of Central Narcotics Bureau recently. According to information, three years ago Narcotics Bureau issued a licence to Shyamlal Khati of Kukreshwar village for cultivation of opium. All four of them were booked under Sections 420, 467, 468/34 of IPC and NDPS Act. HTC
