To early to say anything on post-poll alliance: Pramod Mahajan
Pramod Mahajan claimed that Mulayam Singh Yadav would never go with the Congress and same was the case with BSP. He parried questions on a tie-up with the Samajwadi party after elections.
BJP General Secretary Pramod Mahajan on Thursday parried questions on a tie-up with the Samajwadi party after elections
"It was too early to say anything," he told reporters here when asked whether BJP would tie-up with SP in case there was a hung Lok Sabha
He maintained that the NDA was going to sweep the Lok Sabha election as indicated after the end of two phases of polling.
"It is the smaller groups that are talking about a hung Lok Sabha," he said and expressed confidence that NDA will get a clear majority.
However, he claimed that SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav would never go with the Congress and same was the case with BSP.
Mahajan said BJP was contesting the election on a crucial issue of who can provide an able leadership to the country after the polls.
He claimed that the opposition did not have any leader who could provide a stable government at the centre.
"After the end of two phases of polling, half a dozen leaders of various political parties have staked claim for the prime minister's post but the nation wanted the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee for a stable government at the centre," the BJP's spin doctor said.
He said BJP has over one dozen leaders after the Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani who had national recognition but the Congress has no second line leadership.
