Believe it or not, the pet shop offers several schemes that make it a dog's paradise.

It has announced a one-year free membership of its VIP service for dogs.

The member pets would be offered free services like oil massage in its parlours, shampooing, ear cleaning, conditioning, grooming and nail cutting.

The pet shop will not only provide a one-year vaccination to the member dogs but also free invitation to parties to mark "friendship day" and "dog shows".

Members will also be eligible to participate in lucky draws. The winner dog, along with its owner, will have a free stay of two nights and three days at any of the 25 tourist destinations of Club Mahindra.

"It would be the first dog auction house in the country," said Viren Sharma, director of the International Dog Bazaar (IDB).

"People are generally charged more and often get cheated when they demand rare breeds. At the auction house people would get all breeds of dogs, that too through auction-determined prices," he said.

The auction would be held Sundays and the bidding would start from the minimum price of one rupee.

Bids can eve be made through Internet, telephones and SMS, Sharma told IANS.

IDB has a bakery for its special customers too, offering a choice of birthday cakes, pastries, biscuits, chocolates, puddings and other confectionary items for the pets.

The shop offers a "socialisation academy for dogs" in which crash courses would be conducted for dogs. "In these courses dogs would be taught friendly behaviour and social etiquettes," Sharma said.

Then there is CID, or canine investigation department, which would help owners to trace their lost dogs.

"We respect the owners' emotional attachment towards their pets. Under this service any dog owner can file a complaint about their missing dog and we would help in retracing the pet through our own network," Sharma added.
