Giving a curious turn to the row between the District Magistrate and Maulana Kalbe Jawad, the administrative officer of the Shia Central Board of Waqfs on Tuesday issued an order stating that the DM was no longer the chairman of the Hussainabad Trust.

“The decisions taken by the DM, both financial and administrative, would not be held valid after the formation of the seven member managing committee by the Waqf Board on January 20,” said the order issued by administrative officer Ghulam Saiyyadain.
As head of this committee managing the affairs of the Trust was legally the responsibility of Maulana Kalbe Jawad now and not the DM, who seizes to be the chairman of the Trust, he said. Any decision or work executed by him (DM) during this period would have no legal sanctity, the officer emphasised.
And as if to confirm the committee's authority in this connection, the Board registered an FIR on its recommendation with the Bazar Khala police station against the former caretakers Asad Ali and Habib Haider for embezzling Karbala Imadad Hussein's fund. On the other hand, various Shia outfits came out strongly in support of the cleric and criticised the district administration's move not to hand over the charge of the Trust to the Maulana. These organisations have threatened to launch an agitation if the administration did not hand over the charge to Maulana Jawad by Friday.
Some other organisations like the Royal Family of Awadh have condemned Waqf Board's decision to appoint the cleric as the interim committee's head without taking its chairman Mukhtar Anees into confidence. Maulana Yasoob Abbas of the Shia National Front expressed surprise over the manner in which the Waqf Board chairman Anees had maintained a silence on the controversy so far.
