Nine members of the dissolved Lok Sabha from Orissa, including three Union ministers, will register hat trick, if they repeat the past performance in this general election.
Of the nine--all belonging to the BJD-BJP coalition--five belonged to the regional outfit and four to the saffron party.
The three ministers were--Minister for Water Resources Arjun Charan Sethi (BJD) from Bhadrak (SC) constituency, Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram (BJP) from Sundargarh (ST) and Minister of State for Steel Braja Kishore Tripathy (BJD) from Puri.
The others are Bhartruhari Mahtab (Cuttack), Prasanna Acharya (Sambalpur), Prasanna Patsani (Bhubaneswar), all three of the BJD and MA Kharavela Swain (Balasore), Sangeeta Singh Deo (Balangir) and Bikram Keshari Deo (Kalahandi) who belonged to the BJP.
They had won the 1998 and 1999 parliamentary elections registering consecutive victories.
Four other members of the dissolved Lok Sabha had also won the 1998 and 1999 elections but were not in the fray this time missing out chances to score a hat trick.
They are former Union minister Debendra Pradhan (Deogarh), Salkhan Murmu (Mayurbhanj-ST)--both of the BJP--and Prabhat Samantaray (Kendrapara) and Padmanav Behera (Phulbani-SC), who belonged to the BJD.
