State cremates 3 martyred in Jammu & Kashmir

Three defence personnel from Rajasthan, who were martyred in Jammu and Kashmir recently, were cremated with full state honour at their respective villages on Saturday

Last rites of Army commando Mukut Bihari Meena, was killed in the Kupwada region of Jammu and Kashmir during an encounter with militants on July 11, were performed at his native village Ladaniya in Jhalawar district with full state and Army honours. He was posted with 3 Para Special Force of the Army.

He was married last year and has a five-month-old daughter.

CRPF’s section commander ASI Mishri Lal Meena and constable Sandeep Yadav, who were killed in a militant attack in Anantnag district of Jammu Kashmir on Friday, were also cremated with full state honour.

On behalf of chief minister Vasundhara Raje, state agriculture minister Prabhu Lal Saini paid floral tribute to Meena and on behalf of state Congress president Sachin Pilot, the Tonk district Congress president paid floral tribute to the martyr. Tonk MP Sukhbir Singh Jaunpuria was also present on the occasion.

Meena last time met his family members in February during the marriage of his two daughters, held in February this year. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.

Union minister and Jaipur (rural) MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, state minister Hem Singh Bhadana, Congress MLA Shakuntala Rawat and IAS officer Rohitash Sharma reached Bansur to pay their last respect to Sandeep Yadav. Civil supplies minister Babulal Verma, parliamentary secretary Narendra Nagar, Public Grievance Redressal Committee chairman Shrikrishna Patidar, several other government officials, public representatives and family members of the martyred constable were present.

Yadav is survived by wife Manisha Devi and two sons, Ashish (6) and Akshat (3). His father Banwari Lal Yadav is a farmer.

Earlier, Mishri Lal Meena’s body was first brought to the RTC airstrip in a CRPF helicopter at Deoli of Tonk district, from where it was taken to his ancestral village Rajmahal. Sandeep Yadav’s body was brought to Thanagazi airstrip in a BSF’s helicopter, from where it was carried in a BSF vehicle to Gujrawali dhani under Banasur tehsil of Alwar district.
