Owner of over thirty five clubs around the world, Michael van Cleef Ault boasts of hosting the rich and famous, and Madonna, John Travolta, Kate Moss, Leonardo DiCaprio, Paul McCartney, Paris Hilton and Prince Harry are only some of them.
He tells us that quite a few of his high-profile guests are Indians. “A large portion of our top spending guests, most of whom are dear friends, are extremely affluent Indians from Delhi and Bombay. Indians love to have fun and have a unique way of doing things. They also tend to place great importance on opulence and ultra exclusivity,” he says.
Sharing his experience with Hollywood A-listers, Michael says: “I’ve hosted actors, rockstars, Head of State, royal family and super models. Celebrities are just like anyone else. They go out to escape, forget, revel and have a super night of heavy drinking. I can’t talk about their crazy moments, deep secrets and wild behaviour, but it has gotten both weird and fascinating. In general, rockstars and super models are heads and tails beyond the rest when it comes to partying. Madonna, Lady Gaga, Dita von Teese and Jennifer Lopez are among the best dancers of the world.”
Michael’s next stop is India, with his club Pangaea opening in the Capital this weekend. “I’ve been visiting India for the last 25 years. It has become a very dynamic and exciting market with huge potential for wealth and creativity,” he says.
