Hearing against suspension of IAS officer Durga today

The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad high court will hear the PIL against IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal's suspension on Friday. Social activist Nutan Thakur had filed the PIL on Monday.

The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad high court will hear the PIL against IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal's suspension on Friday. Social activist Nutan Thakur had filed the plea on Monday.

As per the PIL, there is a serious problem of illegal sand mining and illegal religious constructions in public places all over the country. The Supreme Court had also issued strict instructions to put an end to both the practices.

In such situation, there is an urgent need to aid and support all such officers, including Durga Shakti, who take action against these violations and not to harass them, the petition read.

Thakur has asked the high court to direct the Centre as the cadre controlling authority of IAS officers to seek details about Nagpal’s suspension and quash it if found illegal and improper.
