A 25-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday for allegedly helping her boyfriend take photos of her younger sister while she was taking a bath. The accused man is on the run, said the Agripada police.

According to officers, the complainant, a 21-year-old Byculla (West) resident, works in a private firm. Her elder sister was in a relationship with the accused man for the past four years. However, their parents were opposed to the relationship as the man was married and had three children.

“The complainant said that during Navratri, she had a heated argument with the accused man’s wife. Later, the man got into a fight and beat the the complainant. She also hit him with a stick,” said an officer.

On October 28, the accused man video-called his girlfriend — and asked her to help him seek revenge or he would not marry her. He asked her to take the phone to the washroom where the complainant was bathing, and took screenshots. He sent the screenshots to the complainant’s father-in-law, the officer said.

The complainant later approached the police and a first information report (FIR) was lodged against the elder sister and the man under sections 354C (voyeurism) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code, and 66E (violation of privacy) and 67A (publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit) of the Information Technology Act.
