According to the police, Hitesh Chetry, 12, and Yuvraj Thapa, 15, had left home in the afternoon to take a dip in the pond but did not return home in the evening. Their parents then went out to look for them.

“Local fishermen then started searching for the other body and found it late at night,” he added.

The families rushed the bodies to NMMC Hospital in Vashi but they were declared brought dead. The bodies were later handed over to the families after a postmortem.
