Popular singer Pankaj Udhas recently launched his latest ghazal album, titled Sentimental. The album comprises seven ghazals that revolve around an emotional theme that revives lost moments with loved ones.

Udhas is currently touring the US, and while performing there, the singer got emotional on stage and choked while singing one of the ghazals, titled, Maiee. “As I started singing, I choked. I am a professional and can handle any situation, but I couldn’t control myself,” admits Udhas.

Interestingly, not just the senior ghazal singer, but the audience in the auditorium also got sentimental listening to the track. “It was unbelievable. I saw a young gentleman sitting in the front row, crying. I was surprised to see all these eyes filled with tears. When I somehow managed to finish singing the ghazal, there was absolute silence in the hall,” he says.

The artiste was further surprised when he heard people say that the song was even more touching than one of his most popular songs, Chithi ayee hai.
