FIFA World Cup: France enter last 16, Peru exit

France defeated Peru 1-0 in a crucial Group C game of the FIFA World Cup 2018 at the Central Stadium in Yekaterinburg on Thursday. With the win, the 1998 champions enterered the Round of 16 but Peru will return home after the first round. Kylian Mbappe's goal in the 34th minute proved to be the difference between the two teams. Earlier, Denmark drew 1-1 against Australia and both teams remain alive in the showpiece event.
