Photos: Marauding leopard causes panic in Jalandhar

A leopard strayed into a residential locality in Jalandhar city in Punjab on Thursday and triggered panic among residents before it was cornered. Police, forest department and wildlife officials rushed to the spot and attempts were made to tranquillise the leopard but not before curiosity got the better of locals who’d gathered hoping to catch a glimpse of the wild animal. Images captured show crowds running to safety after people became victims of the leopard’s desperate attempt to escape the city.
