Stress is a state of constant worry and tension. It can be induced by a lot of factors. " In psychology, stress is a known and important factor which plays a role in the onset of mental health issues. For example, stress can lead to an anxiety disorder or even depression," wrote Psychologist Alf Lokkertsen as he explained the types of stress.(Unsplash)

Acute stress: This is the reaction to a one-time trigger. Symptoms include being startled, anxious and irritated. (Unsplash)

Chronic stress: This is the constant reaction to an ongoing trigger which is not easy to escape from. Be it a toxic relationship or a traumatic workplace, chronic stress leads to depression and weight gain. (Unsplash)
