On Tuesday, Shah passed away after a prolonged illness of cancer. Remembered as a strict disciplinarian at work, Shah was a thorough professional. On the personal front he was known as a cheerful and extremely kind-hearted soul.

With clients such as Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Sandip Soparkar, Suniel Shetty and many others, Shah was a visionary and fashion icon. Owner, More Mischief, Shah could be seen with his daughter Pooja Shah Bhandari at the store.

Recalling, his first encounter with Shah, celebrity choreographer Sandip Soparkar shared, “In 1992, I was introduced to a very warm and large hearted man, because I did not have enough money, who helped me with outfits from my modelling and personality contests. He dressed me up for free and what followed was a relationship of being a family member. Every show, every appearance, from world film festivals to the red carpet at Cannes, he always dressed me up and never charged me a rupee. For 26 years now, I have been wearing his designs. He taught me how to carry and present myself in public. He meant the world to me.”

Soparkar met Shah a few days ago when the latter was admitted in the hospital and recounts. “He called me his lucky charm but the fact is that he was my lucky charm.. whenever I wore his creations all I received was compliments. I met him just few days ago when he was in hospital and when I kissed him good bye I prayed that all the suffering should end for this super fine man. Today he is not with me but I know where ever he is he always wishes the best for me.”
