Two bodies found in Vaiduwadi canal

Two bodies were recovered from a canal in Vaiduwadi area in Hadapsar on Wednesday evening. While the woman was identified as Patole, the identity of the man could not be ascertained immediately. S Holkar, constable of Hadapsar police station, reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem at Sassoon General Hospital.

Patole had come to Pune two months ago and was living with her relatives in Pune. She had gone out to dispose garbage, but failed to return, said Holkar. Her relatives registered a missing complaint at Hadapsar police station on Saturday. The man was found wearing a bottle green shirt and brown pants and will be at Sassoon until his identity is confirmed. The two are not related to each other and were found stuck in the garbage accumulated in the canal. A team of fire brigade employees pulled the bodies out. Their deaths were recorded as accidental deaths at Hadapsar police station.
